An Easy Way To An Organic Garden

One of the most important things you can do for yourself when embarking on a raw food weightloss life style is to incorporate more organic fruits and vegetables. The fact is organic produce has more nutrients than conventionaly grown produce, is better for the environment, and is overall better for us to consume, but it can get pricey.  Here are some ideas to cut the costs of eating organic.

1. Plant your own organic garden. This doesn’t have to be be a huge undertaking, many kinds of produce can be grown in containers, and some can even grow in your kitchen, if you have good outside lighting.

2. Buy at farmers markets. Not all farmers selling at these markets are organic farmers, but if a farm is not certified but grows its produce chemical free that’s a plus.

3. Form a co-op, or join a co-op Find some like minded people and get together on buying organic produce in bulk.

4. Join an online organic garden or co-op. This is fairly new, but some sights are offering the oportunity to have an organic garden online. You just pay a monthly fee and someone else plants, cares for, and harvests your produce for you. Pretty cool, huh?

5. Grow your own sprouts. These are actually mini organically grown vegetables. Packed with all the vitamins and minerals in a little sprout. Kits with seeds and jars can be found at many health food stores and online.

There are many ways to incorporate organic produce into your raw food weight loss lifestyle. Even if you’re not on a raw food journey eating organic is the best way to go for us now and for future generations.
